Spruce sawn timber for sound boards
Spruce sawn timber is made at our saw mill of carefully selected resonance spruce logs from principal fellings that take place in winter season in particular localities of foothills and mountain areas in the Czech Republic for the most part. It is wood of supreme quality that must fulfil very strict parameters of quality in order to be suitable especially for musical instruments manufacture.
Each manufacturer of musical istruments has his own individual requirements for the parametres of sawn timber for sound boards and of other semi-finished products made out of this wood. These requirements depend on producer's technological processes or on his company standards. Such parametres can be the minimal width and length of resonance zone which is the density of year rings per 1 cm of diameter, the slope of year rings to the surface of the board, the colour of the wood, and other exact specifications of quality or the scope of allowed defects of resonance wood for sounding boards. That is why it is necessary for the client to deliver us all his precise requirements so that we can agree together on conditions before the factual order.
